August Pocket Money 2017

Each month my husband and I allot a certain amount as "pocket money". This is discretionary spending that can be for anything we want. If you want to hear more about where this series came from, check out the first post- June Pocket Money.

Yay for a post up before mid-September!

Original Budget $100
Amended Budget $119 (When we notice a category is going to be overspent, we adjust our entire budget to stay at zero. Giving each of us $19 extra in our pocket money meant I moved $38 from other places.)

Transactions

$22- Target- I can't remember what I got, meaning I need to keep better track!

$7- Cold Stone Creamery- I love a good ice cream treat on a hot day. This particular one was a date with my mom!

$9- Erik's Deli- As a teacher, we rarely get the opportunity to eat lunch out- the opportunities come about 4 days per year, so I always enjoy taking the time to socialize with my coworkers after a summer off.

$9- Mykonos Grill- 2nd opportunity to go out to lunch with my coworkers! I'll have another opportunity in November, and the last one in January.

$10- Dollar Shave Club- I upgraded my razor to The Executive- 6 blades! As a finisher, I still need to use up my 4-blade razor heads, but then I am eager to try this fancy new razor out!

Total Spent: $57- way under budget!
Personal Savings accrued: $62- I don't know what I'm working for now, but it's nice to bank a little cash for something personal down the road.
Reflections/Goals: I need to make better note of what exactly I am spending my pocket money on, so that I can better reflect at the end of the month on my spending practices.

I'm all caught up! Any suggestions on a new savings goal?
